When a client wants to use filler, they often have a specific goal in mind that they want to achieve. As each dermal filler has its own purpose, it is important to find the one that will give your client the results they desire.
Revolve Medicare has a range of dermal fillers available, all of which have their own benefits that a client can take advantage of. Two of these are Belotero Revive and Profhilo, and both are designed to meet separate needs a patient may have. If you are debating which product is the best fit for the people in your care, our Profhilo vs Belotero filler debate can help you to establish what the benefits are of each product so you can work out which one will offer the best advantages.
What is Profhilo?
Designed to hydrate the skin, Profhilo is not a dermal filler. Instead, it is a skin booster and it helps to rejuvenate the skin to make it more youthful and plumper. By injecting a solution containing hyaluronic acid, this treatment can help with fine lines to make the skin appear brighter and smoother, and it stimulates elastin and collagen production in the body.
When Profhilo is administered to a client, it is done through a series of injections. It can spread beneath the skin instead of remaining in one location, so it creates less volume than a dermal filler can provide, and instead hydrates the skin and makes it appear dewier.
What is Belotero Revive?
If a client is suffering from sun damage to their skin, Belotero Revive can be the ideal treatment. This dermal filler can hydrate the skin immediately after application, leaving the skin looking natural, and can reduce superficial fine lines.
Sun damage is when being exposed to the sun causes signs of premature ageing, such as dryness, reduced elasticity and gaining fine lines to name a few. These effects can be reduced by Belotero Revive, which combines glycerol with hyaluronic acid to promote healthy skin.
Pros of Belotero Revive
For clients with dry skin, this dermal filler is designed to rehydrate the skin for up to 6-9 months. Belotero Revive 1ml can also help to make it softer whilst lessening how rough it is, and can contribute to superficial lines being blurred and blended to lessen the look of premature ageing.
People with sun-damaged skin can find this product to be an ideal treatment that can lessen pigmentation and redness to make their skin tone appear more even. Skin can also become firmer and elasticity can improve, making the person seem younger.
Cons of Belotero Revive
Whilst a rare occurrence, some people can suffer from complications that arise after the administration of this dermal filler. These complications can include vascular occlusion (where it is injected into a blood vessel instead of into the skin) and infection, which can result in skin necrosis (where the skin cells die).Â
As for the use of Belotero Revive, the results a client gains are only temporary because they come from a filler with a hyaluronic acid base, meaning touch-up treatments are required to maintain the effect. Also, when this dermal filler is administered, it can cause an irregular texture or lumps beneath the skin, though these can be lessened via massage.Â
If your client is wanting more drastic shaping, such as in the jawline, cheeks or temples, this product is not advised. This is because it is not sturdy or thick, so it should be used for areas that require less sculpting.
PRos Of Profhilo
For patients wanting a non-surgical option, Profhilo treatment is a great solution they can take advantage of. It enables your client to return to their day-to-day activities quickly after their treatment, though there are some restrictions they need to be aware of such as avoiding swimming for 48 hours after the skin booster is administered.
Profhilo H+L can help to better a client’s skin quality, as well as the tone and texture. It can lessen dents or marks in the skin, and it can also make it softer and help to enhance your original skin tone. Tightening the skin enables it to be lifted so it can help with skin laxity and your client can appear younger.
There are several problematic areas of the face that people can have concerns with, such as fine lines around the eyes and smoker lines. Whilst this skin booster is suitable for use on the hands and neck, it can also be used for these problematic areas to make them appear smoother and lessen the visibility of these lines.
Cons of Profhilo
Like with all products, some cons come with using Profhilo. For one, it can only be used on the middle and lower areas of the face, which means it cannot be used on the forehead. As the area around the brows and the forehead can bear the more obvious signs of ageing skin, this makes it less effective than other products that can be used on more parts of the face. It is also not appropriate for deeper wrinkles or sagging, which would benefit more from volumising dermal fillers instead. Brands such as Restylane and Juvéderm have products available that are more suited for these circumstances.
If your patient wishes for immediate results, using Profhilo may cause disappointment. The benefits gained from this product can be hard to notice due to their subtlety, meaning before and after photos are harder to distinguish as this product simply makes the skin appear healthier. Profhilo can be used in conjunction with other products if the client wants more drastic alterations.Â
As previously mentioned, the product you use for your clients will be dependent on what benefits they wish to gain and the current quality of their skin. However, there are more options available than simply Belotero Revive and Profhilo. Our skincare vs skin boosters article discusses the advantages and disadvantages of more products, so you can find the one that suits your patient’s needs and wants. Whether you decide to provide skin boosters, skincare or dermal fillers, find the one that your client needs so they can gain all the advantages they want to enjoy.
