If you are looking to reduce wrinkles or to add more volume and definition to your face, then Lumifil filler injections could be for you.
What is lumifil?
Lumifil is a natural, non-animal based HA dermal filler which is made through a process called cross-link.
The process is called cross-link because it allows linear hyaluronic acid molecules to be linked together to form a larger molecule, creating a much more rigid and uniform surface than its previous state. This type of filler hydrates and rejuvenates the skin which helps to give a more youthful appearance.Â
Lumifil filler can be used to remove fine wrinkles on various parts of the face, such as on frown lines and crow’s feet. Also, more shape and definition can be achieved on certain features, for example, by using Lumifil as a chin filler or nose filler.Â
Female and Male Filler Injections
Lumifil Kiss is popular with both women and men to create more defined and fuller-looking lips, so it is a great gender-neutral filler. As a filler for cheeks, Lumifil Max is a great choice, and to remove fine lines, such as forehead lines, Lumifil Lite is perfect as a forehead filler, for smoothing out those finer details.
Although they’re subtle, the results of Lumifil can be noticed instantly and they can usually last between twelve and eighteen months, depending on the type of filler used.
If you’re thinking about trying Lumifil but are wondering how long bruises last after fillers, or what the general dermal-filler aftercare is, then our step-by-step guide on what to do before, during, and after Lumifil treatment will hopefully help you.
1. What Should I Do Before Having Lumifil Treatment?
Reduce salt intake
Try to reduce your salt intake for at least forty-eight hours before your treatment. Also try to avoid any food or drink that leaves you feeling dehydrated as this can slow down the healing process after treatment.
Avoid blood thinners
We advise that you avoid blood-thinning medications, such as pain killers, not only the day before your lumifil treatment, but at least seven days before.
Avoid supplements
We also advise that you avoid supplements, such as vitamin C and ginseng for at least seven weeks before your treatment.Â
Avoid alcohol
You must avoid all alcoholic beverages for at least twenty-four hours prior to having treatment as there is an increased risk of bleeding and/or bruising if you don’t. Normal bruising will usually last around five to seven days.
Avoid wax
Do not wax or use any hair removal creams on an area which is to be treated with filler.
2. What Should I Do on the dAY OF Having Lumifil Treatment?
Use anaesthetic cream
You should apply an anaesthetic cream to numb the area that is going to be treated. The cream needs to be left on for between thirty to sixty minutes. This numbing cream can also be applied to your lips before having lip-filler treatment.Â
Inject into the dermis
The filler should be injected into the dermis, which is the middle layer of your skin. Then, the area is massaged to ensure consistent coverage. Dermal filler treatment can take around twenty to thirty minutes depending on the area that is being treated.
3. What Happens the dAY After Having Lumifil Treatment?
- The treated area will usually be sore, swollen and red. The swelling should go down between seven and fourteen days after treatment.Â
- As mentioned previously, there could be some bruising, but if you’ve followed the correct steps, then they should disappear within five to seven days.
- We advise that you do not wear any make-up for at least twelve hours after your treatment.
- Again, to avoid too much bruising, try to avoid alcohol for at least forty-eight hours after treatment.Â
- Try to avoid too much sun exposure for at least two weeks after treatment.Â
